EBOOST Develops Smart Charging Station Systems to Promote Transportation Electrification

Founded in 2019, EBOOST is one of the pioneering startups in Vietnam to develop smart electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. At a time when the EV market was still nascent and public charging infrastructure had yet to receive significant attention, EBOOST chose to go against the tide by focusing entirely on research and development to create an optimized technological solution for urban charging infrastructure. Rather than pursuing bulky, costly charging station models, the company developed a compact, easy-to-install charging ecosystem that could be flexibly integrated into existing infrastructure such as apartment building parking lots, office complexes, and shopping malls. This approach significantly reduces upfront deployment costs compared to building traditional standalone charging stations.

EBOOST’s technological strength lies in the seamless integration between hardware and an intelligent management platform. Their system allows users to locate the nearest charging point, monitor charging status in real time, and make cashless payments — all through a single mobile app. From the service provider’s perspective, the platform also offers data management tools, performance monitoring of each station, remote maintenance support, and optimization of usage flow. This fully digitalized solution addresses the complex operational challenges that have hindered many other players from scaling their charging networks.

By 2025, EBOOST had rolled out more than 1,600 charging points and attracted over 8,000 users, primarily in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and several satellite cities. The startup has proven that with a lightweight yet optimized technology model, expanding green infrastructure is entirely feasible even in developing markets. The rapid increase in user numbers further indicates significant market demand, highlighting untapped opportunities that EBOOST is well-positioned to explore.

Beyond just a product, EBOOST aims to build an integrated charging ecosystem that connects businesses with local authorities. By collaborating with building management companies, public parking operators, and businesses with light transport fleets, EBOOST can scale up without heavy initial infrastructure investment. At the same time, the startup actively partners with city governments in their “green urban mobility” strategies, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions reduction and improved quality of life.

On its growth journey, EBOOST successfully secured major funding from three key investors: Seacef (represented by Clime Capital), Fondation Botnar (represented by Sagana), and Third Derivative — an open network ecosystem for climate tech. In addition to funding, EBOOST has also leveraged ecosystem support programs, such as participating in the P4G Vietnam 2025 Summit — where the startup not only showcased its smart charging technology to international audiences but also connected with strategic investors and green mobility advocates.

Compared to traditional large-scale and slow-deployment charging models, EBOOST’s approach proves more suitable for Vietnam’s urban context — where public space is limited and flexible demand is high. This serves as an important lesson for tech startup founders: rather than chasing global trends, it’s often more effective to observe and tailor solutions to local market conditions. Mastering core technology, deeply integrating hardware and software, and adopting a flexible operational model are the three key elements that have enabled EBOOST not only to survive but to thrive in a still-developing market.

With a clear vision, practical solutions, and a strong commitment to green mobility, EBOOST is steadily establishing itself as one of the leading startups in Vietnam’s sustainable transportation sector.
