MEDON is a digital healthcare platform developed by MEDON Digital Healthcare Technology and Services Joint Stock Company, a member of MEDLATEC GROUP. Its mission is to apply technology to improve the quality of medical services in Vietnam. Beyond simply connecting users with doctors and medical experts, MEDON plays a central role in building a comprehensive digital healthcare ecosystem, contributing to a smarter, more convenient, and user-centered healthcare experience.
From its inception, MEDON chose a clear direction by leveraging technological capabilities to address long-standing challenges in the traditional healthcare system, such as long waiting times, fragmented data management, and unequal access to services. At the core of its technological development is an integrated digital platform that offers a range of essential features, including lifetime health record storage, real-time access to test results, home or hospital appointment booking, and online health consultations. These functionalities not only ease the burden on healthcare facilities but also empower individuals—particularly those in remote areas—to take greater control of their health.
Compared to other digital healthcare platforms operating in Vietnam, such as Doctor Anywhere or Jio Health, the strength of MEDON lies not in independent development, but in its ability to leverage the existing medical infrastructure of MEDLATEC Group. With a widespread network of clinics, laboratories, and medical professionals, MEDON holds a significant advantage in delivering at-home testing services, with sample collection and result delivery streamlined through a synchronized system. This greatly shortens the process from consultation to treatment.
MEDON’s technological journey extends beyond building a basic platform. In 2020, it was recognized among the Top 10 at TECHFEST Vietnam—a national innovation competition organized by the National Startup Support Center (NSSC) and the Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF). This marked its first official recognition for technological capability and real-world applicability in the startup ecosystem. By 2023, MEDON had gone on to receive the Vietnam Digital Awards in the category of “Outstanding Digital Product, Service, and Solution,” for its My Medlatec healthcare application. These achievements highlight the platform’s innovation, market alignment, and scalability.
Rather than building everything from scratch, MEDON has developed upon real data, experienced medical staff, and existing infrastructure. This foundation allows for faster testing, feedback, and technological adjustments compared to independently operating startups. Additionally, the product development team has prioritized features that are truly practical for users, focusing on real-world experience instead of chasing fleeting technology trends.
For other startups pursuing the healthtech sector, MEDON’s journey illustrates a highly collaborative approach. Not every startup needs to build everything on their own. Partnering with entities that already possess infrastructure, data, and domain expertise can significantly accelerate product development. Moreover, tackling challenges such as medical data security, legal compliance, and standardized processes should be prioritized from the product design phase.
Looking ahead, if MEDON continues to innovate at its current pace and expands its partnerships with healthcare authorities and technology collaborators, it has the potential to become a foundational technology infrastructure for digital transformation in Vietnam’s healthcare sector—bringing smarter, more personalized healthcare services closer to the population.
