MyLeague is a pioneering technology platform in the field of sports tournament organization and team management, designed to digitize the entire workflow of sports events—from grassroots to professional levels. With the vision of creating a comprehensive digital sports ecosystem, the startup has developed an online platform that enables organizers to easily launch and manage tournaments, update match results, coordinate team lineups, and build real-time player profiles.
From its conceptual phase, MyLeague focused on addressing a widespread issue in the amateur sports community: the lack of professional and centralized tools for organizing tournaments efficiently. Prior to MyLeague, most amateur tournaments were run manually or relied on scattered tools like Excel, Facebook, or Zalo. This led to inconsistency, delays in result updates, and a lack of long-term data storage. With a fully digitized platform, MyLeague allows all stakeholders—from organizers and teams to players and spectators—to access tournament information, follow schedules, and view results in real time via both web browsers and mobile applications.
On the technology side, MyLeague developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with a simple, multi-platform, user-friendly interface. The platform’s core technology is built on a flexible backend architecture capable of simultaneously managing numerous large-scale tournaments. It also integrates real-time data synchronization and an automated scoring and ranking algorithm adaptable to various sports. As a result, the platform can support thousands of concurrent tournaments without interruption or system errors. A key highlight in its development journey is the platform’s continuous feature updates based on user feedback, especially its customizability for different tournament formats such as 7-a-side football, badminton, and amateur basketball.
To date, the platform has served over 50,000 tournaments, supported the management of more than 265,000 teams, and reached 1.35 million athletes. Beyond the impressive numbers, MyLeague‘s development path is marked by notable milestones in the startup ecosystem. In 2021, the startup received a $50,000 investment from VSV Capital in a pre-seed round, along with a $25,000 grant from the SpeedUp program under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology. In the same year, the platform was honored as one of the Top 10 at Techfest Vietnam 2021—a flagship event of the national innovation and startup ecosystem.
Recognition from the ecosystem continued to grow when MyLeague was invited to participate in Shark Tank Vietnam in June 2022, opening up opportunities to connect with strategic investors and expand its reach to mainstream users. Additionally, the startup partnered with VTVcab to integrate its tournament management platform with the sports broadcasting system, bringing tournament data and visuals to mass media channels—a strategic move to enhance visibility and attract sponsors for amateur leagues.
In today’s landscape, MyLeague‘s competitive edge lies not only in its technology but also in its lean, user-centric approach to market entry. While international sports management solutions like TeamSnap or LeagueApps primarily serve the North American market with features tailored to internal team operations or require registration by large user groups, MyLeague targets a more accessible and streamlined solution for smaller, independent organizers—a dominant force in Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region.
MyLeague’s journey proves that technological innovation doesn’t always have to start with complex solutions. Sometimes, all it takes is a platform that’s simple enough yet truly aligned with user needs, paired with a development strategy deeply rooted in local users and ecosystems.
