Founded in 2017, Stringee began as a platform offering specialized APIs and SDKs for voice calls, video calls, messaging, and SMS—essential communication tools that allow businesses to easily integrate these features into their applications or websites. But what truly sets Stringee apart is not what they do, but how they do it: developing core technology entirely in Vietnam and upholding the “Make in Vietnam” philosophy from the very first lines of code.
In a global market already dominated by major players like Twilio, Vonage, and Sendbird, the decision of a Vietnamese tech startup to independently develop its core technology—rather than rely on open-source code or re-integrate existing services—was a bold one. However, this technological autonomy has enabled Stringee to create highly flexible, customizable solutions tailored to the specific needs of businesses, while also optimizing operating costs—an evident competitive advantage in developing markets.
In addition to its API platform, Stringee developed StringeeX, an omni-channel contact center software that integrates all communication channels—hotline, SMS, video calls, as well as social platforms like Facebook, Zalo, and email—into a single interface. This not only allows businesses to centralize management but also enhances customer care by maintaining a seamless interaction history.
Since 2020, Stringee has steadily made its mark in the startup ecosystem, being named among the Top 10 at the National TECHFEST and becoming a technology partner to more than 3,000 businesses, serving over 70 million end users. Clients such as Viettel, Mobifone, Vietinbank Insurance, Hanwha Life, and Techcombank stand as strong testimony to the platform’s practical value and reliability.
Not limiting itself to the domestic market, 2023 marked a turning point as Stringee officially expanded into India and the United States—two markets known for their demanding technological and operational standards. In just over a year, Stringee achieved 10-fold growth and signed contracts with over 100 clients in India, including large-scale enterprises with extensive telesales and customer service systems. This success did not come by chance, but was the result of years of continuous R&D, MVP testing in real-world environments, and product refinement based on direct feedback from the Vietnamese market—a dynamic yet challenging space in terms of infrastructure and user behavior.
On the technological front, Stringee utilizes a distributed architecture with high security and scalability based on the microservices model. Its web-based calling feature uses WebRTC, and it provides SDKs for both iOS and Android, allowing seamless multi-platform integration for businesses. While the full tech stack has not been publicly disclosed, the company’s commitment to owning core technology clearly positions Stringee not merely as an integrator but as a true platform developer with deep technical expertise.
In terms of funding, Stringee secured Series A investment from the DAIWA-SSIAM Vietnam Growth Fund III in April 2023. Prior to that, the startup had raised $2 million in a Pre-Series A round from Zone Startups Ventures (Canada). The involvement of internationally minded venture capital firms reflects their confidence in the technological capability and global scalability of a “Make in Vietnam” product.
Though not a name often seen in the media spotlight, Stringee‘s quiet and steady growth presents a compelling model for Vietnamese tech startups aspiring to go global—a journey that can be built on homegrown technology and a deep understanding of the local customer base.
