TA Water is a green technology startup from Vietnam, renowned for developing and applying MET (Mechanical Energy Technology) – a fully mechanical water treatment solution that requires neither chemicals nor electricity. This technology was born out of a pressing need: to provide safe, clean water at low cost, with easy operation and scalability, making it especially suitable for regions with underdeveloped infrastructure. More than just a commercial product, TA Water positions itself as Vietnam’s technological response to the global challenge of clean water access and sustainable environmental solutions.
At the core of MET lies the application of natural physical principles such as vortex flow, cavitation, and mechanical forces to completely remove organic pollutants, heavy metals, and harmful microorganisms. A significant differentiator is MET’s ability to retain beneficial natural minerals – something conventional water purification methods like reverse osmosis (RO), with their “total filtration” nature, often fail to achieve. While many existing systems require a stable power supply, complex maintenance, and incur high operating costs, MET virtually eliminates operational expenses, enabling wide deployment in remote communities where electricity and technical support remain limited.
Although TA Water has yet to publicly disclose the full trajectory of its product development – including R&D stages or MVP iterations – the startup’s achievements clearly demonstrate the effectiveness and real-world applicability of its technology. MET has won Gold Medals at international innovation exhibitions in Canada and Taiwan – prestigious events that demand not only novelty but also tangible results. These accolades mark a well-deserved recognition of a Vietnam-originated technology and elevate the startup’s presence within the global innovation landscape.
Beyond its technological achievements, TA Water is also recognized for its strong community-oriented development vision. The startup has implemented multiple clean water supply models in water-scarce regions, such as Central Vietnam, using both fixed and mobile MET systems. These systems are so straightforward that local residents can learn to operate them proficiently after just a few hours of training. This flexibility enables TA Water to go beyond being a mere equipment provider – it becomes a community partner, where technology is closely tied to social responsibility.
Success at the P4G Vietnam Summit 2025 marked a significant milestone. TA Water not only received support to showcase its technology at the event but also had the opportunity to connect with a network of investors and international partners in the fields of environment and sustainable development. This opens doors for the startup to scale MET to developing markets where the need for clean water remains urgent and largely unsolved.
From the journey of TA Water, it becomes clear that a mechanically simple solution can still be technologically advanced – as long as it addresses real user needs. Moreover, “green” technologies must also be “lean” – compact, efficient, and easy to operate – to ensure scalability. Most importantly, when technology carries a clear social mission, that very mission becomes the most sustainable driver for long-term startup growth, helping it overcome challenges related to capital, human resources, or market access.
TA Water stands as a testament to the capacity of Vietnamese startups to go global by combining technological innovation with a social mission, delivering practical solutions to two of today’s most urgent challenges: clean water access and sustainable environmental protection.
